Vision AND values

The JCC School is one in which children love to learn, staff is open to professional growth and parents are actively involved. With a variety of experiences and diverse backgrounds, we offer a very unique perspective of community to our early learners. Parents and teachers model the very behavior they teach: cooperation, courtesy, and respect. Communication is open, honest and kind where all participants are working to be their best.

Our students are encouraged to be proud of their surroundings and take good care of them. We see children who are continually learning and working happily at their academic endeavors. We see a place where young children flourish, succeed and enjoy every day at the JCC.

In accomplishing our goals, we:

  •     Value each child’s language, intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative development;
  •   Value the dignity of each child, parent, and staff member;
  •     Are guided by respect for self, for others, and for the environment;
  •     Affirm the joy of doing one’s best;
  •     Enable the success of each person by providing a professional, caring and nurturing school;
  •     Provide an environment in which children develop their talents in a cooperative atmosphere;
  •     Value communication that is open, honest and kind.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Program Goals

 To provide a preschool program dedicated to developing self-esteem, confidence and social skills in toddlers, 2, 3, 4 and 5 year-olds while delivering a high quality early learning educational curriculum which focuses on the development of the whole child. Our Before School and After School Programs provide a safe and nurturing environment with organized, well-planned activities on a daily basis for children whose families desire stimulating, educational, and entertaining opportunities for their children during their extended day at the JCC.

Toddler through Preschool

A 5-hour preschool program is available for children from ages 15 months until they enter kindergarten which offers students numerous activities to learn letters, phonics, numbers, colors, shapes, science, social studies, cooperation and self-help skills while discovering the world around them. Throughout the year, the curriculum revolves around the central themes with continuous early learning opportunities with both a teacher and child self-directed approach during various times of the day.

Kindergarten

A 5 ¼ hour kinder program expands their cognitive and intellectual growth, computer skills, listening skills, fine and large motor skills, social and emotional growth. This is an accelerated kindergarten program where students learn a complete range of information in all critical areas. With our low student-teacher ratio, our children have a tremendous opportunity for success. Our complete curriculum includes reading, writing, math, science, social studies, geography and computer skills and is presented in a highly skillful manner which fully prepares each student with an excellent foundation for first grade.

Before and After School Programs

These programs offer a safe and professional environment designed to enhance social skills and provide academic support. Children experience a wide array of activities ranging from weekly arts and crafts projects, indoor and outdoor games and fun and monthly themes that promote social interaction and school involvement. The Before School and After School Programs are available on all school days and are available only to JCC School students.
